NHS letters for vulnerable people

I have an immune system disorder that causes hyposplenia but I don’t need regular treatment, the NHS just leaves me to get on with it. If I don’t get a letter tomorrow is it worth pushing to get one? Will it help me to get food deliveries while self isolating for 12 weeks? Or is it a bad thing - will this designation make me less likely to receive hospital treatment than a “healthy” person if I get sick?
