Landlords & people on benefits

All those kind landlords that continued to take people on benefits when many wouldn't are probably heaving a sigh of relief as most on full benefits will continue on full benefits. Thankful on behalf of my disabled and unable to work friend.

But people who lost their jobs can claim benefits, too.
The problem with benefits is that it pays the local housing allowance, not the amount the landlord wants or could realistically get in the market. Also, just because someone is claiming benefits doesn't mean they actually prioritise paying the rent or that its guaranteed rent to the landlord as the benefit is often paid to the tenant. I'm allm for silver lining thinking but this is ridiculous.
