If you can still work (other than key workers) are/should you be working?

My DP was told he was being stood down from work early last week from Friday onwards. He has now been told that some need to go in to finish what they have started and has been offered a few days working away next week. He is self employed so at the moment would only be entitled to the equivalent to the SSP that the Chancellor announced if he did not go in.

I am working from home with 2 kids but have been asked to attend one day a week in the office to help cover there.

His wage is massively higher than mine we could survive for a month possibly two without his but then would really struggle

My question is should we be going in if it is possible? Or should everyone be staying at home at all times as it is not dire straights that we need his wage at right this moment?

I would rather lock us all down and keep us and everyone else as safe as possible.

My heart and admiration goes out to all NHS staff and other key workers who have to fight this for us and don't have this option!
