I’m not panic buying, but I’m starting to worry...

Family of 7. I usually run on bare cupboards by the end of the week.
Now there’s no delivery slots, the supermarkets appear to be an empty scrum. If I got out I can only get two of an item, and most family size packs are gone.
If we need to isolate for 14 days I don’t know what we’ll do. Even if we don’t I’m starting to worry.
Anyone else getting worried by this?

Yes im very worried im a mother of 3 and cant even get the basics !

The supermarkets near me were vastly improved today- they had lots of pasta, milk, bread, rice, fruit veg. Loo rolls are still like gold dust, and bleach/cleaners etc, but pretty good all round.
I had a panic Friday when all were bare, and (due to lack of storage and fridge/freezer space) we literally had three more meals.
Feeling a bit relieved now tbh.

The supermarkets by us are getting slowly better, lots of fresh veg today and the stuff I have am going to chop up and pop in the freezer so it doesn't go out. Hate wasting food at the best of times but feels much worse now.

Yes. I think it's a natural maternal instinct to worry about feeding your brood. It's not a situation we've been in before. If you do need to isolate for 14 days people will help out and there are neighbour schemes around the country of willing volunteers.

Lots and lots of stuff back into our Sainsburys today (south east), stocked shelves and not crowded this afternoon. No loo rolls, tinned tomatoes, pasta. Fresh pasta though

Things are getting better but you have to go out early to shop and if you have local shops, theh often have better availability.

VivaLeBeaver · 22/03/2020 15:13

Things are improving. Our local coop had everything apart from loo roll yesterday. Neighbour went to morrisons and said he got pretty much everything he wanted.

My DP got loo roll, wine and fresh veg this afternoon, in a smaller Co-op shop. I think maybe local stores with less traffic might be a better bet than big super, arkets?

My OH went today. The only thing we couldn't get was potatos and pasta. Farmfoods had a lot of basics. Tesco and LIDL the rest. We are trying to shop every 7-10 days and should manage.
