Hi all
My 2 dads and I are self isolating as I am vulnerable. Poor dd1 is 18 in a few weeks. How can I make it special for her?!
I will make a brilliant cake (if I can get the ingredients!) and she can choose what we do all day and the meals etc. But what else can I do? It's her 18th.she should be in the pub with friends getting drunk! She has already had her a levels cancelled, is worried sick about me,and is doing so well.
We were saying yesterday we would put dance music on and get drunk and pretend we were in a club. Not really the same is it?

Also she isn't able to get her main present yet as we were going to go out and find a piece of vintage jewellery together. I usually get her a few bits as well but I go out shopping for that for inspiration. I have nothing to give her! I can order online but don't have any ideas.

Any help at all would be really appreciated.

Get some drinking games in that you can all play together.

Have a look at Folksy and Etsy for some unusual personalised gifts as tokens before you can take her shopping, or make her a photo book of her from babyhood to now.

Same here, ds is turning 18 on Friday. Hes had his holiday cancelled, he was meant to be flying out on Saturday with his friends...i had bought him Euros. Ordered him a watch which isnt going to be here on time...its gonna be a pretty crap 18th, i feel really bad for him.

What can we do though, its out of our hands. Ive got some banners and balloons so will decorate the house. Helium ones wont be getting blown up now though as the shop is closed...I'll attempt to make a cake too 🤦‍♀️

My DS is 21 on Friday. He and his friends are setting up a FaceTime group and having a few beers.

Other than that I will cook and make cake. I have told him we will celebrate ASAP (he’s also had to cancel his trip to Spain with friends)

How about a champagne / Prosecco breakfast to start the day?
