I am 35, have well-managed asthma but am very fit and well otherwise.

DH is 40, has an auto immune condition that affects his skin and IBD, but again is very fit and well.

We have no DC and we have don't have any contact with vulnerable people whatsoever. DH suggested as we have plenty of time on our hands we could apply for jobs - he could do supermarket deliveries, and I could apply for a supermarket checkout/stocking job as they're desperately needing extra staff locally.

I'd like to do 'my bit' - but concerned about all the extra contact with people.

What would you do?

We are going to get it, you might as well be employed and therefore get sick pay when it hits you

But ur autoimmune DH is a real problem, cuz if u feel sick, he's a high risk.

In principle, volunteering in the NHS is a great cause... So looking to help supermarkets isnt bad... But ur DH is at risk, and so i dont suggest you do that.

Do neither of you currently work at the moment? Do you need the money?

If you don't desperately need the money, I wouldn't to be honest I'd just isolate at home if you can rather than entering new jobs and putting yourselves at risk.

DH has been. He has a Skype interview tomorrow instead of face-to-face. But he's been planning to move on for a while. He's had a lot come through quite quickly though. I don't think many people are looking, so you could be at an advantage.

We have a business that more or less runs itself - not a huge income but enough.

More money is always needed, there's always some unexpected cost...and I have been wondering about getting a job. But no, finding jobs wouldn't be vital.

Join your local mutual aid group so you can volunteer at a safe level. You. Could. Pick. Up medicines, admin the group as you seem to have time and that will end up being at least a part time job, do phone calls. To people self. Isolating alone.

I admire your desire to help but i think you can do it with your own safety needs met.

You could also look up fareshare, they are desperate for help, there will be a role. Without lots. Of face to face.
