What would make it easier for you to stay at home?

Staying home is key to stopping the spread of this disease. So in the last few days/weeks what have you had to leave the house for that could have been avoided.

For me I have a large household so restrictions on bigger purchases mean more trips to the supermarket. Ridiculously a ration card would mean I could by enough for all of us. Delivery would be even better. We can and are working from home and the children are now off school so that is all working well.

I haven't left the house for 12 days. Husband has been out for food but due to stockpiling has struggled to get essentials and has had to make multiple trips - so I totally agree, rationing would sort that out. Feels like we are being punished for having not stockpiled!

Honestly I wish I had a larger house and wasn’t dealing with my entire household being home 24/7.

Wish I had a larger garden. Would be nice to sit outside and walk around without floating around in public. Or even working from home, with my set up moved outside when the weather’s nice!

Online deliveries for groceries would be great but there’s currently no slots. Managed to book a Waitrose slot for May but I still have to constantly pop out in the interim.

managedmis · 22/03/2020 00:44

We could have done online shopping. Then we wouldn't have left the house. Except to go for bike rides, walks, etc.

Piixxiiee · 22/03/2020 00:46

Not being a key worker...... been self isolating but gearing up to go back. Feels like I'm risking my childrens & dh health by doing so.

MarshaBradyo · 22/03/2020 00:47

We haven’t left but need to book another online shop in one to two weeks.

Jumpinthruhoops · 22/03/2020 00:49

Would also like a rationing card. Greedy people are clearing the place out before 10am. How much can they eat or shit? In all seriousness?

5zeds · 22/03/2020 00:51

@Piixxiiee thank you.

It's pointless staying inside for 12 days if your DH is making multiple trips out

He'll just bring it back with him @TheMemoryLingers

TheMemoryLingers · 22/03/2020 01:06

I'm aware that it's a possibility, How but it's about reducing the risk as much as we can - he's obviously washing his hands as soon as he gets in and (for health reasons unrelated to CV) we don't share a bedroom so it's not a given that I'd catch it.

Two words...............key meters.

DressingGownofDoom · 22/03/2020 01:44

I wish me and my family had a big mansion and grounds together. Like the royal family. But we don't so just have to stick it out by myself.

Imohsotired · 22/03/2020 01:45

A nanny. Kidding obviously but my toddler is testing every inch of my patience and sanity any has brought me to tears on more than one occasion in the last few days.

DressingGownofDoom · 22/03/2020 01:53

Also if DH would eating all the fucking quarantine food that would help.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 22/03/2020 01:56

Dh and the kids moving out.

SociallyDistanced · 22/03/2020 02:00

Dh pissing off. He is driving me up the bloody wall!

Bookworm83 · 22/03/2020 05:00

I haven't gone out in 15 days except to the back garden.

I'm a prepper and an introvert so feel like I've been training for this my entire life Grin

Husband has gone out a few times to get some fresh fruit/veg and milk, and sort out MOT which was due, but other than that we're very happy staying in.
I normally work from home anyway but have just started my maternity leave.
Husband has been working from home as of Wednesday.

While I appreciate the seriousness of the situation, I find it a bit funny that what is my normal way of life has suddenly become the "thing" that everyone is talking about.

I'd love a swimming pool. However that is not really an option. I miss swimming so much!

Drivemybluecar · 22/03/2020 05:44

Would love not to have to go to work. My olace can do without me. But no. Have to go in

BikeRunSki · 22/03/2020 05:45

An extra room, a bigger garden and better braodband.

speakout · 22/03/2020 05:48

It's about the food shopping for us.

Yesterday OH and I had to visit 3 supermarkets between us to get the essentials.
We are a family of 5.
Every shop was crowded, queues at check out, people within inches of each other.
