The Above Bill is being rushed through parliament on Monday & is being heavily criticised as slashing Mental health, education & social care rights
Should we be worried ? Are you writing to your MP?

I think there. Is a lot of knee jerk reactions going on, nobody really knows what to do or where to go, not least the government. You need to trust someone and try not to read too much into it.

YABU

Every government in the world is making plans something like this
Delay could makes things even worse

In such an emergency, there are not the resources to maintain all normal rights & services, so the priority is using them to save the maximum number of people

That means some safeguards have to be dropped, some services too

Resources will be shifted to where they have the most effect

e.g. only 1 doctor being required to sign things, so the others can get on with actual doctoring instead of filling in forms

e.g. people will have to wait months longer for non-urgent planned operations & treatments.

Later, if there are not enough ventilators etc, then doctors would have to choose the people who would have the best chance of surviving

Education - for all kids - has been downgraded by closing schools and providing basic childcare, rather than normal teaching, for kids of key workers

@corythatwas Boris said we would turn the tide in 12 weeks, not that it would be beaten in 12 weeks. He means the peak of the epidemic in this country will be upon us in that time fram before it plateaus then starts to decrease. Originally they said a steady 3 month rise in cases and a steady 3 month drop. Then a renewed wave in winter.
