Do NOT head off in your Camper Van

JKScot4 · 21/03/2020 20:09

Today has seen popular towns in the Scottish Highlands overrun by camper vans, cars etc
This is not a holiday.
These small communities are not equipped to handle an outbreak, also there are limited resources for locals.
Do not travel to these small towns, possibly bringing Covid19 with you!!

Many people live in their vans / Motorhome. Where do you suggest they go?

JKScot4 · 21/03/2020 20:14

This is a huge surge in numbers, it’s like high season!!

And what happens if they do not leave their van?

Strongmummy · 21/03/2020 20:18

If they don’t leave their van they have a thoroughly shit holiday 🤣

Fine if they don’t leave their vans I guess.

But that isn’t going to happen really is it?

There are not the resources in remote parts of Scotland to deal with it as someone has already stated. An influx of people is not what is needed.

The few will spoil it for all of us who are massively changing our way of life.

Why can’t they behave, because they are selfish entitled fucks thinking only of themselves and their naice children having a jolly time while the schools are off.

Inkpaperstars · 21/03/2020 22:14

Even if they don't plan to leave their van...in which case why go....if they get sick they may need to leave their van and draw on limited local health resources as well as risk spreading infection.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 21/03/2020 22:17

Cheeky fuckers are trying to register with GPs in North Wales.

Itsmybirthdaytoday20 · 21/03/2020 22:17

I think everyone thinks ‘I’ll be the only one that’s thought of this so I’ll only be adding myself to that area’ but then obviously 1000 people have the same thought.

halcyondays · 21/03/2020 22:23

I very much doubt they will stay in their vans the whole time. And even if they do, they’ll put a massive train on the local hospital if they get ill.
If they knew how small some of these hospitals were and how many people they had to serve, they’d probably stay at home.

rainbowunicorn · 21/03/2020 22:32

They are selfish bastards. Keep away from small communities that have limited resources. How exactly they think the one ward local hosptal that covers a huge area are going to treat them if they end up ill I have no idea. Bloody idiots.

NanaRant · 21/03/2020 22:39

Fuck the fuck off from the Scottish Highlands

NotSusanna · 21/03/2020 22:41

It's so selfish to travel to the highlands right now unless they live there and are going home. I can't believe some people are being so irresponsible.

They just don't get it at all. It's all me me me.

CrotchetyQuaver · 21/03/2020 22:45

It's the same at the other end of the country in the new forest. Probably all bits in between as well. You'd have thought it was the August bank holiday weekend today, so many people about and campers arriving to stay at the campsites that are open. I guess they must think the government requests to avoid unnecessary travel and social contact don't apply to them.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 21/03/2020 22:58

Yeah, I’ve realised how selfish and individualistic people are. When we all go in to lockdown you can say a massive thanks to them. Absolute selfish bleeeeeeps. Aaaargh

MsF1t · 21/03/2020 23:08

My mother lives in one of those villages. The populations there tend to be retired and therefore more vulnerable. Luckily we have arranged for her to isolate near to us rather than stay there as we were concerned about the infrastructure locally. But I am fucking LIVID for all of her friends, and for the locals who will not only also be exposed but have to struggle harder to get hold of basics. Angry

Randomword6 · 08/04/2020 14:36

I am buying a camper van so isolating in my driveway is possible if needed. Does anyone have any advice about what to do to thoroughly clean its surfaces etc?

lubeybooby · 08/04/2020 14:46

All of them should be heavily fined. Selfish turds.

Zofloramummy · 08/04/2020 14:52

What the fuck is wrong with people?? Over 900 deaths today!! Are they that stupid to risk their lives, the local communities lives and put pressure on our most vulnerable health services Angry
