Hopefully government measures means that you will be able to stay back up Thanks

Lua · 21/03/2020 14:37

So sorry OP! Flowers

utterlybutterly8 · 21/03/2020 14:38

Flowers for you OP. Will you be claiming the 80% pay from the government? You’re probably eligible for a grant as well?

Meckity1 · 21/03/2020 14:38

So sorry that you are going through it.

A new hairdressers opened a few yards from us next month. My heart is breaking for them.

Mummadeeze · 21/03/2020 14:38

So so sorry to hear this. Really hope the government helps you and that you can open up again in the not too distant future.

LizzieMacQueen · 21/03/2020 14:44

Yours is the kind of business that will still be needed post Covid19 crisis. Try to take comfort in that.

Hannah021 · 21/03/2020 14:46

Im sorry you had to do that, its certainly very stressful to lose once's income. Brave move, i hope the government helps you.

DianaT1969 · 21/03/2020 14:49

Sorry OP. Out of interest, do you still have to pay rent and utilities? Is there any help for you on that? Will you qualify for the PAYE rescue package yesterday?
Best wishes and I hope you can pick back up 💐

Roselilly36 · 21/03/2020 14:49

It’s awful, so sorry Flowers

MargotB7 · 21/03/2020 14:51

It's so sad, I hope you get help.

deathswiftlyfollows · 21/03/2020 14:54

I still have to pay all bills.
On paper I qualify for the small business grant of up to 10 grand however I have to wait for my local authority to contact me regarding my eligibility for it before I can begin a claim. And with everyone working from home that may take a while.

Sorry to hear about your salon.

I hope that all your claims go smoothly and your landlord etc all show understanding.

Just think of the huge manes of hair you'll have when this is all over.

You'll need sheep shearers if it goes on for months.

Good luck to you and yours

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/03/2020 15:03

I'm a sole trader and after next week I don't have any work booked. I can't influence it or do anything to get any more.

And I won't get any help from the government as DH will hopefully be 'furloughed' by his employer.

But it will pick up eventually... I can only wait.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/03/2020 15:05

Sorry, meant to end wishing you the best of luck with that paperwork and getting back on your feet in time.

TSSDNCOP · 21/03/2020 19:19

My sister closed her pub last night. It’s heartbreaking OP. It cannot last forever and I’m thankful the government is working to help us. We just have to sit it out.

worriedmama16 · 21/03/2020 19:24

I'm a self employed cleaner and have lost 90% of custom overnight. Temporary I hope but who knows? My daughter has also received not brilliant news after a chest ct scan, so I'm worried how she'd cope if she contracts it.
I've never felt so low in my life, this is a complete nightmare.
