With so much concern about the current situation I just wanted to post about something that happened yesterday. My friend with MH issues phoned me last night. he's completely skint atm (and I couldn't help him as I was also skint till today). He hadn't eaten anything all day and went into our local takeaway and asked if there were any scraps. They gave him a free kebab. He phoned me as he was so grateful and wanted me to know about it.
So I'm hoping people will act well when needed.
The only reason I'm ok today is because the bank gave me a £50 overdraft (I'm getting paid next Thursday). I rang them up and a lovely scots lad helped me with doing it online.
I saw on Twitter that Martin Lewis (the money guy) has set aside £1mil to help people affected by corona poverty. Food parcels for small charities and groups and things like that.
Also on Twitter, a guy in the North West has some chalets (so holiday homes) that he is offering up to the homeless with another couple of chalets being ready soon.
I hope so much that acts like these will become much more commonplace.
And before you ask, after I've been to Tesco I will be dropping off some food for my friend with MH issues cos he won't have anything.
Stay safe. Please help people if you can.
