OMG I'm literally shocked at what I've seen this morning.
Why and why aren't people taking this seriously?
My car was booked for MOT today. Booked in over a month ago. Spoke to garage last night who confirmed it's still a requirement in midst of all this.
As a keyworker who must attend place of work I literally had no choice. Otherwise it could have lapsed and stayed on driveway for many months untaxed.
Decided as out of milk and free from products I would walk to supermarket when there and get the few essentials I need. And yes - it was need as I need to take lunch to job I must do.
I also bought some washing powder as everyday when I get home clothes have to go straight into machine, I shower as per guidance and put on clean stuff.
In total I brought 8 items.
I wore woollen gloves to touch crossings and trollies and these came home and into wash.
Like many of my colleagues we are worried about the forced contact we have but know we are a service that must be provided and suck it up. The payoff is knowing our jobs are safe and we aren't facing the same financial insecurity as others.
The supermarket was rammed. I understand people need food.
But rammed with people who are walking around with take out coffees (because they can get them) and talking about which snacks they should get in case "we have to stay home for a few days".
Families with both adults and their children telling children about not touching etc. Leave them at home with one adult then!
Many people in my situation don't have the luxury of shopping everyday to grab everything they can. We go to work and by the time we've finished there is nothing left. We'd all love to be at home with our families - safe - protected from this virus. But we can't.
We thought we had an entitled attitude and obesity problem before this started.
I had hoped facing what we are would change this.
So far it doesn't seem to be and it's got worse
