Central London - residents' parking half empty

Has anyone else noticed this? About 70% of the parking where I live is resident's parking. I've just looked out the window and half the residents' parking spaces are empty, and pretty much all the public parking (obviously). Normally, as soon as a space comes free, it is filled.

They’ve all driven down to their second homes in Cornwall.

Very likely. I know at least one family has packed up and gone to Devon but it wasn't like this yesterday.

I am just shocked at the magnitude of cars that have gone.

There’s another thread asking people not to go to their holiday homes as the local doctors and tiny hospital won’t be able to cope with the influx of people if they are diseased or spread it once down there.
Sigh.
But many people are selfish. They won’t care. We know that from the way they stripped the shelves leaving nothing for others.
I watched a woman walk out of Sainsbury with about 8 nine packs of bog rolls last week. Thoughtless. Unless she was taking them to a care home or something. Unlikely though as it was evening.
Anyway, people are not the same as they were during the war. Not any more. Years of greed have turned many into total swine.
