I feel terribly sorry for the young people in Y11 and Y13 who are now wondering what their results are going to be and that they can do nothing now towards their grades after all their hard work over the last few years.
However, I am also concerned about those in Y10 and Y12. DS is in Y10, his school are sticking by a strict timetable (well that is their initial plan). They have also asked parents to be co-operative in trying to ensure their DC act as if they are in school whilst in school hours eg working at a desk, not in their pjs. We will be enforcing this as best we can and DS knows he needs to study to ensure they cover the whole curriculum.
However, according to some reports this could be our new 'normal' on and off for the next 12 - 18 months. With the best will in the world this remote learning will not be the same as actual face to face in the classroom teaching.
So what is the future for the Y10 and Y12 pupils?
