Are you buying children laptops for school work?

My two are 11 and 13 and have letters home from school saying that most work will be online. They have phones but no computers and I need my laptop for work. I assume schools aren’t providing any equipment?

Can you get iPads basic ones?

I considered it then thought Nope!

Mine are the same age, I just bought one, will use the money we get back from the cancelled residential trip that was due to take place on Monday :(

I'm very lucky, a local man refurbs laptops for this who can't afford them and he's kindly donated us one.

I still have 3 kids without one but at least now we have something to work from taking turns :)

Some schools are providing equipment but most arent.
I've had to go to currys 2 days in a row for bits for wfh but everything's out of stock but they are getting deliveries so if you need something order it to be delivered to store.

Tablet yes laptop no.

Yes, am considering it for DS (12).

DD (13) has one for school and she's pretty much self sufficient with her school work.

Our primary school have provided Chromebooks to those who need them. They already had access to a large number due to a computing scheme, so I imagine this not normal!

My youngest has a small iPad but not really sure what they will be doing and if it would be easier on a laptop. I don’t mind buying them if I have to but am surprised the information from the schools seems to have assumed everyone has access to equipment.

My two boys will use my personal laptop and an old one I kept. I'll use my work laptop. But they have tablets too to look at the work online and then put the answers or work in a notebook been provided.
