Had a sore throat for a few days and banging headache felt like I had chills yesterday but temp 37. Now I have been dry coughing all night and today and chest is sore. Does this sound more like a normal bug as I have no temp or could temp develop ? My husband wants to carry on as normal and still go to work as his line of work will have to carry on, it’s pissing me off i said we all need to isolate ??

No temp so no.

AppleKatie · 21/03/2020 10:10

You should both be isolating. You might have it. You might not.

Northernsoullover · 21/03/2020 10:10

I thought if you had ANY symptoms...

clairethewitch70 · 21/03/2020 10:10

I have had symptoms and the temperature comes in spikes and comes and goes. Chills too

Helenj1977 · 21/03/2020 10:11

You don't alway have a high temp.

Cough OR high temp. He is being twat. You should both self isolate for 14 days.

It's people like your husband and Manchester who are causing this spread.

novacaneforthepain · 21/03/2020 10:11

Just isolate all of you to keep everyone else safe.

GalOopNorth · 21/03/2020 10:11

It’s cough OR temperature

Yes you should be isolating and so should he

Xx12345 · 21/03/2020 10:11

I want to isolate but he won’t listen

OP posts:
SebandAlice · 21/03/2020 10:12

Many people presenting with no temp now. Sounds like you could have it.

chickedeee · 21/03/2020 10:12

Maybe
Maybe not
No test you won't know
Drink water and rest
Self-isolate and keep well
Thanks

BeansOnToast4T · 21/03/2020 10:12

@Manchestermanchester
How can you say that - you can't know!!! A couple local to me tested positive after being on a cruise ship, they had been in isolation and did not display symptoms and never had a fever!

HolidayArmadillo26 · 21/03/2020 10:12

@Manchestermanchester that is completely the wrong advice. It’s a cough OR temp. The temperature often comes and goes.

@Xx12345 yes, you all need to isolate completely. I hope you feel well soon.

Xx12345 · 21/03/2020 10:13

Il try an chat to him again, shout sorry hopefully he’ll listen

Role play

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 21/03/2020 10:14

No temp so no

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Cough or high temperature means self isolate for 7 days if you live alone, or whole household for 14 days.

BeansOnToast4T · 21/03/2020 10:15

The advice is to isolate if you have a new cough OR fever. Not everyone will have a fever.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms
Stay at home if you have either:

a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

peajotter · 21/03/2020 10:15

Official advice is here. Cough AND/OR temperature. You only need to stay home 7 days from the start, but anyone living with you needs to wait 14 days (unless they get it too). Stay home.

TheoriginalLEM · 21/03/2020 10:16

I am in a similar situation, although my DP is sort of listening. He isn't taking too seriously.

I have had similar symptoms to you OP, sore throat banging headache, dry cough . My temperature got as high as 37.9 it was a spike but generally my temperature has been normal

CodenameVillanelle · 21/03/2020 10:17

Yes you must all absolutely self isolate
I have all the symptoms apart from a temperature. My boss had all the symptoms 3 days before I got it. Plenty of people are getting a mild version so not having a temperature means nothing.

CodenameVillanelle · 21/03/2020 10:18

Who are all these idiots who aren't taking it seriously??
I despair, I really do. Maybe it's the fact that I'm on day 4 of isolation but I'm really fucking furious with these selfish twats who think the advice doesn't apply to them.

Xx12345 · 21/03/2020 10:19

Thanks a lot everyone

@TheoriginalLEM

Bloody stupid aren’t they ? How can they not take this seriously 🙄

peajotter · 21/03/2020 10:20

Or to take a personal note: He can go back to work in two weeks time when the peak hits and his work is really struggling with everyone else off sick. Or he can go now, possibly spread it, and watch his work collapse from lack of staff.

Xx12345 · 21/03/2020 10:20

I don’t feel like going anywhere anyway defo isolating. I’m still in my Pjamas and have a baby to look after 😩

pickingdaisies · 21/03/2020 10:29

Take care OP, hope your partner listens to (lots of shouting) sense. Probably the last thing you need is having to convince an idiot.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 21/03/2020 10:33

I have been self-isolating with a cough since Tuesday. I've never had a temperature though I've had periods of feeling too hot or cold. The cough is very painful and it hurts to breathe. Pretty sure I've got it, despite the lack of temperature. Sad
