Please don't all pile on, like many people I'm stressed about what's going to happen come Monday morning there's been a lot of info to absorb and I'm trying to work our what's for the best.

So dh and I are both supposedly key workers. Or at least our employers are putting downward pressure on us that we are and must continue to work and be productive. Dh has no option to wfh to change hours or will be all hands on deck for him.

The dcs school have agreed to take them, they haven't really asked any questions apart from our job titles, but I think the school just haven't got the time or the means to sort all of this out at such short notice.

Fil has offered to have the dc for half the week, but he lives quite far away and is still working himself the other half, we would have to transport them there and they'd have to stay overnight. Then I can wfh half the week and try to middle through.

Is it better to send the dc to school or to fil? He's not elderly or in an at risk group. What's safer in terms of not spreading the virus?

FIL if he's fit and healthy and you can deal with the logistics of getting her there. She'll be exposed to less people and therefore less likely to catch it/ spread it around.

If you are both keyworkers doing something essential then the school places are for people like you and you should consider using it. If however you are at the type of school where the school isn't checking and many parents would take advantage of this you might find your child exposed to a large amount of children so there is a higher potential to come in contact with it.

If you have another option then please don't send them to school. It sounds like a tricky situation with regards to transporting them, but if you can get them there FIL is a much better option.
