Who else is having to get creative with what was available on the shelves in supermarkets?
I had chicken and bacon already in the freezer, so fried that up with some garlic... then all I had to make a sauce was some cream. All good so far. Then remembered (obviously) I didn't have any pasta. Nothing in the fridge and all I had in the freezer was... a bag of broccoli.
I never realised how nice broccoli and cream is together! To me anyway
I never would have thought of it otherwise. Please note that I eat everything so if you find that gross you really don't want to meet me in person, it gets worse (see Spicy Foof thread earlier this month).
Haven't really had any fails yet, apart from maybe the mince I cooked as it was on it's use by, couldn't be bothered to make it 'into' anything so just shoved a spoonful or three on some buttered bread with some bbq sauce and ate a sloppy mince sandwich. It wasn't great. Always frustrating when half the sandwich makes a bid for freedom before it reaches your mouth.
I'm hoping others can inspire me with food combinations I haven't thought of, or at least give me a laugh with their failed experiments?
