It's dc's birthday soon - ideas for the day?

So, ds is turning 13 soon. He's gutted that school has finished and is a little unsettled about what's going on. Usually for his birthday, he'll go out with some friends for an activity, or we'll do a big, family day out (e.g. London, Legoland, etc.). Obviously this year, those types of things are out. The only idea we've come up with so far is a family bike ride and picnic (keeping social distancing from other people), but seeing as going for a walk/bike ride is a regular thing for us (normally), it doesn't seem that special. Family movie night/games night are also favourites so not that unusual. Does anyone have any other ideas?

We’ve been thinking the same - DD turns 9 in May, so probably right at the peak of the epidemic ☹️. Following for any genius ideas! All I can think of is saying she can plan breakfast lunch and dinner and we will make whatever she likes for all three meals. But then there’s a lot of time between meals! Maybe a trip to one of those National Trust places which are keeping the outdoors bit open?

We do have a couple of NT places nearby, but our local ones are frequent favourites (for me, anyway - dc may be a bit less keen now they've closed the playgrounds).

No help but Ds birthday is on Sunday and Dd on Wednesday. So sad for them; we normally do a day out then go out to dinner with family, feel sorry for them
