Nope he didn't. If he had the bollocks, he would have already!

rowyaboat · 20/03/2020 17:59

Can we please go in to full lockdown?

Drunk man on the overground is asking women if they "want some Corona baby" and spitting on seats.

Nacknick · 20/03/2020 18:04

Can you really not imagine what a non-essential shop might be @justasking111??

mimbleandlittlemy · 20/03/2020 18:08

Well Jo Malone has closed for the duration, justasking and I think that's the very definition of a non essential shop!

mimbleandlittlemy · 20/03/2020 18:09

As have Gap. You can buy online from both but not on the High Street.

Roostersmum2 · 20/03/2020 18:13

Clothes shops, furniture stores, garden centres, charity shops, salon services, poundland type shops - all non essential

All will be bustling no doubt because the same idiots who chose not to listen to the earlier advice, will assume those places are fine to congregate in

I'm in Devon. We're already experiencing an influx of second home owners rushing here from London to sit it out. It started last week, or at least became noticeable. The more of them there are, the more our shops have empty shelves. Today there was very little available. We just wanted enough to make supper tonight so we've got some frozen shit. We'll have to get out earlier so that there'll be sausages or something when we get there.

crapette · 20/03/2020 18:23

What the heck is a non essential shop when its at home?

Anything that isn't a grocery store or a pharmacy.
Here in France that includes Tabacs too - only because you can't buy tobacco in a garage or supermarket/newsagent here

Vanhi · 20/03/2020 18:34

What the heck is a non essential shop when its at home?

Essential: food, pharmacy, agricultural supplies (if you want more food)

Non essential: everywhere else.

EdithWeston · 20/03/2020 19:27

Post Offices are usually in shops these days, so whatever that shop is it couid stay open (most are convenience store/minimarts, but there are some in newsagents)

Vanhi · 20/03/2020 19:40

Oh yes, very good point. In the rural area I'm in post offices are often in small village shops. Definitely essential for keeping comms open. Also getting to a bank is a long trip for me. I'm self employed and some people still use cheques - if I can get to a PO I can pay them in.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 20/03/2020 19:48

I would have happily done this two Weeks ago.

I can't believe two weeks of mental stress, put in harms way.. Dc unwell with other things. Why did we have to wait.

IsadoraQuagmire · 20/03/2020 20:00

I disagree about poundland type shops being nonessential. They sell loo roll, cleaning products, personal hygiene stuff as well as food.
