Vouchers for FSM children

I've had an email from school saying that children in receipt of free school means will have a voucher sent each week for either Tesco or Asda. This is great but with the current issues with delivery it's not going to help. And that's if the vouchers can be used online. We are vulnerable and I don't drive so delivery is my only option.

Has anyone else heard from their schools regarding this?

Our school are going to be a hub providing lunches for the local schools. So you can go collect a lunch from the school if you qualify for benefit based free school means.

Will this be just for children whose parents are in receipt of benefits or for Early Years as well? DS is Year 2 so still on free school meals, as are his whole year. I'm likely to be out of work soon due to coronavirus so it would be a help.

We received a sainsburys voucher for our secondary aged child however its in store only and we are currently having to isolate due to illness... not the schools fault though I guess there is no real solution currently. Another school is offering lunches to be collected daily but as our children are in specialist units, even if we were able to travel it would cost more to travel 9.5miles each way to collect than to find the extra money for lunch.

None of this is a moan... they are between a rock and a hard place; just makes me concerned for the children that will fall through the gaps
