12 week isolation from tomorrow...

Help me stay sane? Or at least not kill my DP whilst in isolation? Grin

Trying to be chipper but I'm honestly really worried, especially as it's getting harder and harder to get essentials through online shopping (we don't drive and even if we did, I'm in a vulnerable group so my DP has decided to self-isolate too as much as possible along with our child (who is handling all this like a pro) so they don't put me at risk and there isn't an option for them to stay with other people in the meantime... It's going to be a long one.)

How is everyone's mother's day going?

Being honest not the best as we are on day 11 and today was the day DS decided to get bored and start annoying DD1 and DD2

caringcarer · 22/03/2020 22:16

Today ds spent ages in garden bowling a cricket ball at one of my garden chairs, I don't know why because he does have wickets to bowl at. Just glad we have large garden. I can sense he is getting bored. He does not sleep if not enough excercise. Boris said if in vulnerable group should get letter this week. Apparently there will be hubs all over country that will deliver food and prescriptions. They said good would be paid for by exchequer in first instance. Did anyone else see this on TV? Dh got sick note from GP for one month then to phone for another 1-2 weeks, then phase back to work but will be working from home. I'm sahm now so don't need sick certificate. If you need one phone your GP and ask for telephone appointment. They should give you one of you work and are in group told to self isolate.

We have decided to keep ds at home even though he could go in the week after next. I have looked through the worksheets he has been given and he has been given the wrong set as his teacher was away last 3 days of term. I have ordered a few textbooks online and quite looking forward to teaching him. He is still going to have his tutor 3 hours each week so not too worried as he likes learning. We went out into garden today as sunshine. I hope you all had good Mother's Day. Does anyone else have a dog that will miss walkies?

We are all ok atm. My 2 older sons furlowed now. 1 from yesterday and 1 from today. I am pleased as did not think it safe for them to carry on working. 1 son got us some bread, milk and fruit today. Have got delivery slot for April 8th and have ordered enough for 10 days if it all arrives. Weusually eat out twice a week so having to buy in more food now. Home education is going ok. Better than I expected. ds won his year group lunch making challenge. He made a pizza from scratch under supervision. It tasted good. He is going to make macaroni cheese this week. Dh, ds, and I have not been out at all except into garden. The weather forcast said it will warm up next week. Hope you are feeling better aveisenim.

Thanks, won't go into too much detail but have possible Covid19 despite being in isolation for the most part (with I think 2/3 exceptions, the last one being a couple of weeks ago because I had to pick up a prescription as the pharmacy is useless when I send DP by himself, but it also means my potential vectors are very low and I have a good idea of where I picked it up) since the virus hit the UK because I pick up so many bugs anyway.

Genuinely thought I was going to end up in hospital as I simply couldn't breathe properly. 111 asked me three questions said it was unlikely to be COVID and to call my GP. Called my GP who isn't doing F2F atm and they couldn't rule it out after asking for more of my symptoms and have told me to call an ambulance if my breathing gets worse... So... fuck knows. Won't find out until they bring in antibody testing, so still have to act like I've not had it, just in case. Not hugged my kid in over a week in case it is that and aside from not being able to breathe that has been the hardest thing about being ill. We're a very tactile/hugging family.

Either way, it's left me with a bugger of a chest infection but I have medication now and am at least able to breathe more easily as long as I stay absolutely still...

So yeh. Stay safe everyone and disinfect/quarantine any deliveries so you don't get ill from them x

@Aveisenim sorry your feeling down hope you feel better soon. I am in same boat had a bad cold 3 weeks and now on steroids and antibiotics to help me breathe. Like you I want to know if it's covid but they can't tell me and as I have existing respiratory problems my doctor said if it gets worse call a ambulance. Sorry not much help but exactly the same boat.

Aveisenim · 02/04/2020 03:02

@Theodoreb it's really crappy. Just trying to take the time I need to recuperate whilst trying not to stress about the state of the house. My DP is great, but some things I'm very particular about so it's driving me crazy lol! My kid is being awesome, and jokily runs away everytime it looks like I'm going to get within 2ft... Little bugger but it makes me laugh (and then have a coughing fit...lol)

Aww bless him would make me chuckle too, I'm a single parent so no way I can keep kids away but luckily whatever I had they caught and it was gone within two days so I'm not worried about them. I was a bit worried about the one has she has suspected epilepsy and if she's very bad it triggers seizures but she was fine thank god. Don't think there's anything I could do to keep them away if I move to a different room so do they lol.

Aveisenim · 02/04/2020 21:24

Seizures are rough. Thank goodness she was okay. My DC does the same normally, currently, now I've been feeling a bit better, DC has taken to talking to me in the doorway again (but maintaining a safe distance lol) thankfully they appreciate their quiet time (aka gaming time).

Today I've been feeling rough again, stairs are hard and leave me out of breath. Think I'm on about day 12 now. Losing track. I just want to feel better.
