Qu re School place as Carer to 2 kids with ASD

I'm a recognised Carer to two kids with ASD
(both get DLA, one high needs)

They currently have no EHCP (rejected but about to appeal)

I assume they cannot continue to go to School because although I'm a recognised Carer, (and disabled myself) it's to my own 2 children?

Need a ehcp I believe. I have 2 with asd but only a ehcp for one, get dla for both though, the school called me today to ask if I wanted dd to still come but only she would be allowed. I declined.

Neither of my Schools have a list of 'essential workers'.
I get that I am not that (because I had to give up my NHS job to cope with my kids MH issues from being expected to cope in mainstream as no bloody EHCP, even with High Needs DLA...
School say 'not safe with such severe panic attacks' and send home at 20mins notice making any work impossible) Sorry for vent.

Thanks PumpkinP, I am sure that is correct - what a clusterfuck :(

Maybe speak to the school, they could be classed as vulnerable? I didn’t question it further with theirs as I didn’t want dd to still go

I have mixed feelings.
I don't want them there and more likely to catch it obvs, but also i know that they will refuse all 'home ed' as they are very rigid about things and 'lessons happen at skl' and they are already so very far behind and one has been having severe panic attacks about this already

School say that 'essential workers / vulnerable kids' parents MUST notify them by 9am tomorrow

That’s the thing, there is no way I’m going to be able to get mine to do work at home (got 4 in total) so it’s a worry that this could be till September 😐 but My anxiety of dd being at school would be too much to deal with, hope you get some luck with the school.

School cant confirm places unless Parents notify THEM.

As there is no EHCP I guess that is it.

It'll be very hard for me with no respite at all (boo hoo, its very hard for most of us right now I appreciate)

But i'ill be very hard for them too (as for many kids but esp SN/SEN with no EHCP, dammit)
