Laptop for children to work from home

Hi, I think I’ll need a laptop so my kids can work from home via google classroom etc. They’ll need to be able to access the internet & email & create documents, using word.
I know absolutely nothing about IT - can anyone recommend a laptop for this? And would the word package come with it?
Keen to keep costs down, obviously.

i would look for a second hand laptop like this one from CEX (a well known 2nd hand electronics shop) link. it doesn't come with word, but could your dc just use google drive (and google docs) instead, which is free? if not, word costs £119 here to download
