Foodbanks now changing to cash donations

Because the panic buyers want to hang on to everything they could get their mitts on, and as a result the supermarkets are now having to ration purchases so most people need what they can buy for their own families, the foodbanks are inevitably suffering - and therefore so too are the most vulnerable, especially now when children are going to be at home.

So foodbanks are now asking for cash donations instead of food, so that they can go out and buy supplies themselves. I know many people are worried about their own financial futures and won't feel able to donate and that's fine, but if you can spare a bit, please go to your local foodbank's website and donate. Thank you.

Foodbanks have always asked for cash as well as actual things.

It is better that individual shoppers do not add more to their individual trollies, and foodbanks can work with the supermarkets to maximise them getting what they most need when they need it

So a very good time to remind people they can (and perhaps should) donate that way
