For me it was January when the W.H.O declared it a public health emergency, although I was already aware of it by that point. I stocked up about 3 weeks later. It has been interesting to see people around me so dismissive of the situation until that first press conference with Bozo & the other 2.
What about you or the people in your lives?

I was watching China but naively thinking it wouldn't hit here hard. Obviously rethought that. Then about 3 weeks ago I told DP it was time to start visiting the grandparents- both my nan and grandad have had hospital admissions in the last 6 months, with nan having several. Not expecting her to make it to be honest, and she's had solicitors round to sort out her will.

At the end of February. A family member died in February and the funeral was at the end. I think that was the last occasion I have been to which felt normal. We went out in the evening a week later and I said at the time that this would be the last one for a while and was already wary of how close other tables were.

Panic buying didn't hit my area till later than other places. The day after Boris's speech about losing loved ones, the atmosphere in the supermarket changed.

It's strange to think that 5 weeks ago I was on a packed long distance train and making plans to do that again in the summer and giving no thought to covid.

I think it was this Wednesday for me. Announcing the cancellation of the exams really knocked me for 6. I don't have children taking them this year but suddenly I thought of all of the lost chances to really show what they've been working for.
My stiff upper lip has been wobbling since then.

Very early. Now I miss the ‘it’s only flu’ squad. I liked trying to believe them.

I was in the "stop panicking it's flu ffs" team until about 2 weeks ago? 3? Time has changed its meaning tho - last weekend seems another age.
I have eaten humble pie every day since then.

(I'm still right about the horrors of Brexit though.)
