Coronavirus playlist <warning black humour>

Self-isolating with coughing children. I've had a bit of a stinging feeling in my lungs every now and again, but not sure if that's nerves or very mild symptoms. Anyway, since feeling that way I've had The Corrs Breathless stuck in my head.

Any wildly inappropriate song suggestions for a coronavirus playlist?

NB I am not trying to make light of the suffering and death of many around the world, just trying to find some bleak humour in a sad and scary time.

I have already started mine! (Also dark sense of humour)
I have:
The End of the world as we know it, by REM
DOA (Foo Fighters, particularly the line "It's a shame we have to die my dear, noone's getting out of here alive)
Breathing , Kate Bush
Infected, The The
Breathe with me, Prodigy

dd2 says this is why I have no friends

Wallowinginfilth · 19/03/2020 11:56

Yes I was going to say

The End of the world as we know it, by REM
And I love Kate Bush

Your dd sounds funny too.

Dp keeps singing Isolation which is one of the songs from the tv show the mighty boosh

I will survive.

FFS

This too will pass

On a slightly more serious/philosophical note George Harrison's All thing Must Pass has always brought me comfort in bad times.

Britney Spears 'Hit me Baby' was on the radio earlier & the line 'my loneliness is killing me' seemed apt for imminent lockdown!

I have a horrible urge to watch Outbreak but haven't!

It's all very strange & scary so odd little moments of humour, black or otherwise, are cheering.

AuntieMarys · 19/03/2020 12:08

Basically any Nick Cave song 😀

It's all very strange & scary so odd little moments of humour, black or otherwise, are cheering. yeah that's what I thought. But I also thought I'd get a whole bunch of people telling me how terrible I am. None so far.Smile

I've been listening to Absolute radio in the mornings recently, and some of the songs they are playing are really quite apt.

The presenters have actually managed to make me smile to myself too, one presenter is working from home as his wife has it, and the news reader is also in self isolation.

a couple I can remember they played this morning were
Buddy holly by weezer
Pompeii by Bastille

there were others but I can't remember them now.

My normal office is in an Age UK building where various classes take place for older people - dance classes/ bingo etc. Yesterday I am told they were exercising to the Bee gees ' staying alive'. We have all been pulled out of the building and working from home.

Wallowinginfilth · 19/03/2020 12:36

The Police are an unexpected mine of Covid-19 songs. They have another one called So Lonely.

Which reminds me of Freddie Mercury Living on my Own.
