People selling calpol for a profit on ebay are vile!

It's a children's medicine ffs. And they are making a profit off of desperate parents. Someone was selling 100s of bottles. Buy the medicines you need and leave the rest in the store for others who need it. Buying it and depriving others so you can sell it on ebay is a f*ing vile repugnant immortal thing to do. What about the people who can't afford to spend 10 pounds plus for a bottle.

That's disgusting!
Unfortunately not surprising though.
I hope Ebay will take action to stop them like Amazon did with that jerk who bought thousands of hand sanitizer.

Makes you wonder about those people though, if one of my friends or family was doing this I'd have some serious words and definitely name and shame them if they carried on.

GingerBeverage · 19/03/2020 11:28

Report the listing

Connie222 · 19/03/2020 11:31

eBay is full of people selling paracetamol too. I hope they rot.

clarebear99 · 19/03/2020 11:31

There are baby calpol listings that are up to over £100! If they don't do a buy it now then eBay can't pull them so they get round it by putting in auction

sansgender · 19/03/2020 11:33

Report it, it's illegal to profit from this crisis

clarebear99 · 19/03/2020 11:36

They're only pulling the buy it now listings. I reported a few yesterday and the auction ones have stayed. I'm guessing if your starting price is 99p then the seller can say it's not their fault if people get carried away.

bobstersmum · 19/03/2020 11:39

223950289200 this item number is over £1k for one bottle of calpol.

Pilot12 · 19/03/2020 11:44

I think Ebay, Facebay etc need to do the right thing and remove all the sellers flogging hand sanitizer, baby milk, paracetamol etc at over inflated prices from the site. Then these people will have to stop raiding the supermarkets and then the people that need it can get it.

Trading Standards keep put notices on Facebay telling people not to buy home made hand sanitizer from strangers yet just last night a woman local to me was trying to sell hers at "only £2.00" to fill your empty 50ml bottle.

CaterpillarInTheGarden · 19/03/2020 12:10

What category do I use when reporting the listing. Is it prohibited and restricted items or listing practices

OP posts:
clarebear99 · 19/03/2020 12:15

The 1k listings will be from disgruntled people I bet. The buyer will have to start the listing all over again 😂

bobstersmum · 19/03/2020 13:23

It was zapped! Ha!

Lynda07 · 19/03/2020 13:31

I just looked at Calpol in Boots Online, all out of stock - "Stock coming soon". I was surprised at how expensive it is even under ordinary circumstances! Agree it's terrible to try to make a big profit out of children's illness, ebay is overrun with scarce goods being sold at grossly inflated prices. However if you are prepared to spend time looking through everything, there are some things that aren't too bad (not Calpol).

Irial · 19/03/2020 14:31

fucker alert
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383469243302?

Lumene · 19/03/2020 14:31

Yes they are.

GrumpyHoonMain · 19/03/2020 14:32

Report the listing

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/03/2020 14:34

It's illegal to sell medication surely?

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/03/2020 14:34

Unless you're a pharmacist.

chicken2015 · 19/03/2020 14:37

I signed to tell them how i feel about it 🙈 just really made me angry

chicken2015 · 19/03/2020 14:38

I signed up to ebay

Duchessofblandings · 19/03/2020 14:39

FGS don’t buy “calpol” or any other medication from e-Bay!

DurhamDurham · 19/03/2020 14:43

Ebay always sides with the buyer so I'm tempted to buy some then open a dispute and say it arrived damaged or didn't arrive at all and get a refund.

SuperlativeScrubs · 19/03/2020 14:44

Can we also report all the selfish bastards price gouging infant formula, especially special dietry formulas and premature baby formulas?Quadruple the price for some of those on ebay.

Also, don't forget to check and report on Gumtree and other local selling sites.

bobstersmum · 19/03/2020 14:47

Absolute grabby selfish bastards

supercee · 19/03/2020 14:47

It's the ones that state 'the money is going to help those in need, I'm not profiting!'. Yeah I'll tell the jokes.

Scum the lot of them.

CaterpillarInTheGarden · 20/03/2020 14:05

SuperlativeScrubs yes the selling of infant formula for inflated prices is unbelievable vile. Ebay is just encouraging people to do it by allowing it, which will contribute to the shortage in the shops.
This crisis is certainly bringing out the worse in some people. But depriving babies, toddler and young children of milk and medicine and then price gouging their desperate parents takes it to a new level.
Makes me so angry, they are absolute scum.

supercee I have seen some claiming all the profits going to a food bank, which yeah don't believe them
