To go for a drive?

Hi,

Myself, DH and baby DS have been isolating for a week (we aren't sick, no symptoms I just thought we should as we didn't have to go anywhere and DH is on annual leave so could stay in)

However, I'm going out of my mind. This is DH idea of heaven but I'm really mentally abit drained. I think I've spent too much time watching the news.

Anyway, would IBU to go for a drive just to get out the house. This is something we used to do just to get out.

Likely wouldn't need petrol but that would be the only time we come into contact with other people if we did.

Do you think this is safe?

Going for a drive is fine BUT (and I know this will sound ridiculous) just be aware that the NHS is under massive pressure, so if you were in an accident or whatever you would be adding to that pressure unnecessarily. I know we have to try and carry on as normal and can't focus on the negatives but maybe just something to keep in mind.

Of course you can. There are loads of us still going to work every day! (Not through choice before you all pile on me).

Yes - I wish I still had mine. Plums you could eat straight off the tree, instead of rock-hard till they rot over-night. Leeks, runner beans and an old variety of strawberry you could mash against the top of your mouth that you couldn't buy anywhere these days.

Perhaps we'll be asked to Dig for Victory in our gardens soon.

You're isolating for no reason whatsoever, apart from choice. You can do what the hell you like. Why are you even asking?

I'm in quarantine due to virus symptoms. I have no idea why anyone would put themselves through this unnecessarily, just because they can.
