Are your children showing symptoms?

Morning ,

I have been worrying about my 2yo , Saturday morning he woke me up coughing and was sick a tiny amount, I thought nothing more of it.

Saturday evening through to Monday he had slightly looser nappies, Since Tuesday he has been getting a higher temperature throughout the days and taking his clothes off due to being too warm, this morning he has been coughing so much that he's throwing up from it.

Now I know there are so many things going around at the moment but knowing this virus is out there I can't help but worry,. It might not be the virus but I can't be sure it's not.

We have stayed indoors since Friday and will continue to do so, I can't get him seen as we all know we need to self isolate.

Have your children showed any symptoms and think they may have it?

DD has earache and a temperature. DS is fine. He's delighted he'll be off school.

My kids are okay currently but I just wanted to reply to you as I know how worrying it is when our kids are ill at the best of times. Never in our current situation.

Hope you're all okay Flowers

YES.
We are 3 days into this.
DD2 (11) having high fever spikes 40.3 was the max. Controlled with Calpol.
Breathing difficulties: woke at 3am scared and struggling to breathe but got it under control with her inhaler (she has a blue inhaler for v mild asthma) and sitting in the shower for 40 mins- the steam helps.
Cough: she describes it as "fluffy throat". Again steam helps.
She has slept for mostof the last 3 days.
It came on VERY quickly.
Called 111 but not testing unless admitted to hospital and we are able to keep it under control at home.

DS has had a cough for 8 days, some days he also has fever a weird spike of fever once every 24 hours, plus a runny nose. We have upped his inhalers and are waiting it out. Now I have a headache, cough and runny nose. Could be just a cold, there is no way of knowing.

My ds5 has had a cough since Friday last week and I've had him isolated since then, I believe it's a cold just because he does seem to be stuffy sounding and having post nasal drip at night time but better to be safe than sorry. 111 told me and my husband to isolate ourselves for 7 days from yesterday as the advice is 14 days from the onset of symptoms of one household member so now we're both off work on SSP from day 1, so my HR dept said. I work in non-essential retail so can't work from home.

Thankyou all for your kind words.

@smallgreyelephant that sounds terrifying,It's good to know that you are able to control her temperature, good tip about the steaming I hope it continues to help. I think it's terrible she can't get tested especially having asthma.
Best wishes to you all.

@Booboostwo that's the worse part isn't it the unknown. I've also woken with a sore head which is sure is stress related, after my son went back to sleep I had sleep paralysis episodes, which I get when I am stressed or have anxiety. My son also keeps having weird temp spikes and his skin feels like it's burning.

@Nogodsnomasters I hope your little one gets better soon. Really difficult times isn't it and if they'd test and it came back negative then at least one of you could go to work. Such a mess x

Op exactly, if we knew one way or the other then households wouldn't be suffering as much financially which would in turn stop their place of work from going under!

Yes, DS nearly 3, dry cough and high temperature starting yesterday. No temp today and is his usually happy boisterous self.

Was very worried yesterday, feel a little calmer today.
