Working from home with 3 year old and 1 year old.

Has anyone got any tips for doing this- will anyone actually do this?

The one year sleeps for about 1.5 hours in the afternoon (usually), so I can possibly put some TV on then for the 3 year old and get a bit done. Other than that- I’m struggling. They’re up around half 5/6, go to bed about 8/8.30. I’m pregnant and exhausted so the idea of then getting up at 9 to work til midnight isn’t appealing though I may need to consider that I guess. The one year old wake several times overnight still so I don’t get a brilliant night anyway. I just can’t see when else I can work. The 3 year old is actually quite good at entertaining herself for a bit, but the 1 year old is a liability and will put things in his mouth, climb on anything he can etc, and constantly demands attention. DH can’t work from home and does long hours so won’t be able to help. Do I just have to accept I can’t work and take unpaid leave? Any advice or anyone in the same boat? Thanks!

I’m in the same boat, 3 year old on his own would probably be ok but my 1 year old is also into everything and they start fighting if they don’t have some form of structure or attention.

My job can be done from home full time but dp often works on site so going to see how we might be able to split it. I’m hoping our employers let us do a mix of holiday and unpaid leave e.g I take on day a week as holiday, one as unpaid leave and work the rest assuming dp can pick up the remaining days (I’m the higher earner so we need to maximise my income).

Just worried that our employers will say they can’t let us effectively move to part time or that we will be made redundant.

I’m worried sick, hence being awake at this time, but I’m hoping in 24 hours time we will at least have a plan.

In the meantime going to cancel childcare voucher payments and try and get mortgage holiday to ease the pressure a bit.
