I have four dc.
Two high school, two primary school.
Obviously both schools now furiously sending out emails about online homeschool plans etc.
High school letter basically reads : if your dc has maths on Monday first period we expect them to be logged on doing it from 9-10am on that day and so on.
Primary letter reads similar but probably not going to quite as stringent but "approx five hours targeted learning" was said.
So ... I live rural. Internet isn't brilliant, when all dc are home and on their tablets/phones the WiFi is seriously slow/often non existent.
Whilst they have an old iPad mini each (honestly, they're at least 5-7yrs old and dippy and slow at the best of times) the only other device we have is an ancient laptop that became defunct when they got their iPads. It might turn on, I don't really know yet 🤷🏽♀️
But will whatever software they use work on iPads or phones? I know some things schools have used in the past haven't.
Buying new/different devices/laptops is out of the question. This virus has seriously impacted our earnings.
Diddly squat can be done about our internet speed, I've tried.
How is this going to work?
And yeah, I know I'm not going to be the worst off either.
