Panicking about going for blood test tomorrow

My son has low immunity. We have been hiding in the house all week. I took him out of school at the end of last week.
He is due an extra blood test tomorrow to check his white blood cells. If they have risen, happy days. We will still stay at home but I will breathe a little easier. If they have fallen we need to full on self isolate for 12 weeks.
So we need these results. But I’m terrified of taking him to the clinic in case one of us gets corona. We will be touching nothing, spraying ourselves with dettol spray in the car park and changing clothes and showering when we get home!! I’m firing it hard to control my anxiety over this. Can someone talk me down please?

Our surgery is shut for all but phone appointments. I’m due a blood test shortly due to being on immunosuppressants. I’m hoping it will be safe as they’re not actually seeing patients on site at the moment.
Hoping for brilliant results.

Finding it. Not firing it. See I can’t even type. Confused

I knew what you meant!
Can you call ahead and ask to wait in a side room?

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 18/03/2020 17:03

It’s a large waiting room with chairs around the outside. Planning on standing right in the middle or over in the corner where there are no chairs. I really don’t want to take him, but we need to go. Aaargh!!

I would call from the car. They may be able to take you in a side door.

Wolfiefan fingers crossed you get good results - very worrying times for the immune suppressed x

Is it a walk in or do you have an appointment? If it's the former go first thing in the morning when it opens so it's emptier.

I’m sure mine will be fine. It’s a case of checking liver to see if I have to come off or change medication. So far so good but thanks. I don’t work and DH is taking on everything but walking the dog. (We are quite rural!)
Stay well. And thanks.

The place was completely empty apart from us and the nurse. Phew!

Brilliant! Thought it might be. Hoping the results are good.
