DH with emphysema. Boss unreasonable

DH is high risk. Couldn't get much more so. He is currently working from home, unsurprisingly.

His boss wants him to come in for a meeting to discuss it and, come in at the weekend (for free) as there will be nobody else in the office.

This is insane, isn't it?

The boss is missing the point. Your DH would have to travel to see him and he could be a carrier.

Nuts. Can he get signed off by GP? Union?

Finfintytint · 18/03/2020 16:06

Skype the meeting.

nomdefuckit · 18/03/2020 16:09

Boss doesn't like video calls apparently.

So tempted to ring her myself! Argh!

Your DH should suggest a Skype meeting instead.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 16:12

Sorry but boss is just going to have to suck it up, isn’t she.

What’s wrong with an just an old-fashioned phone call??

Finfintytint · 18/03/2020 16:13

Tough on the boss. It’s a perfectly reasonable thing to do in the circumstances. What reasons do they give by not video calling?

Queenoftheashes · 18/03/2020 16:14

What a moron

onalongsabbatical · 18/03/2020 16:17

Government advice trumps boss. Boss gonna have to suck it up.

Cloudhopping · 18/03/2020 16:19

Your boss is going against Public Health England advice. If I were your dh, I would refuse and have no guilt about doing so.

Camouflage · 18/03/2020 16:23

It'd be a flat NO from me!

She's being completely unreasonable in her requests and expectations. If your DH's work has an HR department he should contact them directly.

Bombaybunty · 18/03/2020 16:33

Is it worth talking to your GP and asking for a fit note? The GP's round here are only doing phone consultations. They can recommend workplace adjustments to include working from home and no public transport
