latest panic buy item - freezers!

So I'm moving house on Saturday and new rental doesn't have a fridge so I went up to buy one, and the guy said to come asap as fridges and freezers were literally selling out..!!!! They cant deliver until next Tuesday due to the panic buying - leaving me with no fridge for 4 days! They have a list of people waiting for chest freezers - over 40 on the list. And he told me about a guy who came into the shop and whilst he was there he rang argos to order a freezer, and there were 24000 people looking at them at the same time, trying to order!!! Have zero toilet paper now, no pasta, no eggs, been out trying to shop this morning, but shelves empty, though I did get bread, and the last bar of soap.

What about getting one second hand from Facebook Marketplace or gumtree?

Where are you? I just looked on Curry’s out of nosiness and there’s plenty available for delivery on Sunday in my area. Are you in a city?

I just bought an extra freezer but only coz ours is already a tiny under counter one and weve been looking to buy one for ages but also because I'll be batch cooking for my elderly parents and in laws and need the space

same here- im due to give birth next week, I had one week of mat leave and wanted to batch cook some health filling meals for the freezer (DH is not the best cook).ours is a tiny cool box in tall fridge. I should have ordered a freezer a fortnight ago but still working, now they are on a 3 week lead in from AO or currys in my area- or they are crazy expensive. but as I'm not allowed out to the supermarket, can't edit next weekends online Ocado order or buy more than a few of the same item I guess its going to be beans on toast or takeaways in my house for a while- hope it wort affect BF supply too much.

I put in a fridge freezer order last night with Very, and it's due on Saturday..
My existing one's fridge has started knackering up (not good - my insulin lives there til it's needed!), and has a teeny freezer compartment. I've ordered one with a 50/50 split, I think I'm going to be doing a fair bit of batch cooking/freezing.

It took me a while to find something I could afford and was in stock and could deliver fairly soon.

I'm in the 'social distancing for 12 weeks' group, live alone w/out support, and have been worrying about getting shopping in.
