No fever, no coughing, but feel very flu-like - does this count??

I feel unwell but normal temperature and no cough. I have been in contact with someone recently who went on to self isolate with moderate symptoms.

I would normally call 111, but they probably are better advising very sick patients. I obviously won't be going near any vulnerable groups but should I be self isolating? And my family too?

The official guidance is that a cough and/or temperature are the symptoms. And yet... I just don't feel well.

What do you think? If any of you have a medical background or are better informed than most, please let me know.

Why would you normally call 111, do you think you need medical help?

I’m beginning to wonder if I have it, sore throat, weird burning pain in my chest like I’ve been for a run, chest feels tight, headache, very tired. Can’t take a deep breath. But unless it gets worse I will just sleep, drink fluids, paracetamol.

Meant to say I felt like this a bit yesterday and have just started coughing. But not a lot. No idea about temp. I think I feel warm, dh disagrees. No thermometer.

You might have it but unless really ill with it then you don’t need medical help.

I agree I don't need medical help. But should I stop my kids attending school and their own medical appointments?

Do you think this is the precursor to the coughing etc?

Days 8-10 look like the weird ones, according to this doctor on twitter.

But should I stop my kids attending school and their own medical appointments?

Yes! If you have symptoms your whole household needs to be isolated for 14 days.

Thanks for your input. It is so hard to self diagnose, especially in this atmosphere.

Yes, it might develop into a cough, it might not. So honestly I'd treat it as that you have symptoms and isolate everyone for 14 days. Remember some people don't have any symptoms so perfectly possible others will feel a bit unwell not not have the cough.
