Taking children out of school?

My children’s school is still open. How does it work if you want to take them out but they don’t have any symptoms? Is it unauthorised? Sorry this has probably been asked before

Just say you are self isolating. Loads are.

No one gives a shit about attendance any more.

Ok thanks, didn’t want to make anything up

I just emailed the head and class teacher this morning and made it clear we would be working from home for the foreseeable but would keep on top of the school set activities/topics

Ds is in an at risk group and school have been very supportive

Our kids are being sent home with school work packs today in the event of self isolation or school closure. The fact that this is all coming home now suggests to me that closure is imminent anyway.

I’m a lone parent in high risk group. School pretty unimpressed but there is little point social distancing if I’m taking my DC to school, even though they seem to think that the janitor wiping door handles will stop the virus in its tracks.

I’m in Scotland and was told they wont send work home unless school closes, as per policy. I’ve to let them know if any of us get symptoms so they can use a different code to record it.

We are using online resources and our own books in meantime.

I think I'm going to let DS go until Friday then fake it if schools still open.

BearBearBearBear · 18/03/2020 14:06

I actually won't fake it, I'll just do it.

Schools are looking highly likely to be closed by the end of the week anyway.
