Social distance or self-isolation and wfh - totally lost!

Hi..

I've got autoimmune disease and a BMI of over 40 so should I be social distancing or self-isolating. If either one, can I also be classed as 'working from home' rather than 'ill' (i.e. having a condition) as if I was self-isolating then I would also be wfh.

How do I broach my boss with this.. currently I guess I'm social distancing although I've been to the shops for the last two nights.. but do I need to explain to him that I may need to self-isolate due to my health conditions? Is it at their discretion or can we insist that we must self-isolate for 12 weeks? Can't afford to lose job.

My husband also had two comorbidities - diabetes and hypertension and he's in same situation - how does he 'tell' his boss he needs to self-isolate for 12 weeks - they would get rid of him!

Uncertain times all around in every direction one looks.

Is there an option to work from home? If so, take it
