Why are we buying toilet rolls and not

Immune boosting foods like beetroot, ginger, spirulina and oranges etc?
Now I know there's no cure or even any evidence that foods can fight this thing but surely fuelling your body with antioxidants is better than nothing yet most people in the store were rushing past all the foods that might assist them in favour of wet wipes and toilet rolls! Am I the only one to find this odd?

I've bought it mainly as dh has Crohn's so our consumption is pretty high on a weekly basis.

Every time the media says people are needlessly stockpiling toilet paper thousands more rush out and buy some.

It’s going to define a generation.

Exactly @Fieldofgreycorn showing those empty aisles is what’s feeding the fear. When they showed the panic buying of loo roll in Australia and the empty aisles, the day after the panic buying of loo roll started here.
The message we’re hearing is, “this is how bad it’s going to get, get out there now and buy!”, not whatever drivel they thought they were transmitting to the public.
