Centre Parcs is closed, why don’t the government use it at a hospital village/extra beds etc medical staff could stay there too!!

Would be good tbh, you could isolate the chalets.

Butlins would be good for this too!

buckeejit · 17/03/2020 20:22

Great idea, you'd think it could be prepped for something. Don't think they have the resources for any extra man power tho to be moved there

Michaelbaubles · 17/03/2020 20:24

Better not be during the Easter holidays though, it’s bankrupt the government 😄

Nononoandno · 17/03/2020 20:24

Just seems a waste of isolated villas and beds currently

Bloody hell, it's bad enough that the poor sods are ill; let's not make them endure centreparks.

buckeejit · 17/03/2020 21:19

Don Grin

Oooh a fortnight in the forest 🌲 All that fresh air through the windows. Bit far out though to get emergency medical assistance if anyone goes downhill. Otherwise a fab idea. I'd sign up but be sad about not being able to use the pool.

Mrsmorton · 17/03/2020 21:42

There are hotels and conference facilities closer to hospitals that would be cooped. Anything that requires transporting patients long distances (>30miles) is incredibly resource intensive.

itsgettingweird · 17/03/2020 21:46

That's a great idea.

Reason you could get a journo to ask at tomorrow press conference?

Did laugh at Easter holiday prices!

PavlovianDog · 17/03/2020 21:48

Inspired...

Nononoandno · 17/03/2020 22:10

So anyone with symptoms getting worse could be take there and sort of processed and one four bed villa for four patients and two nurses, maybe senior doctors monitoring and going from villa to villa, I dunno Im not knowledgeable at this thing it was just a thought, the army could help set it up one villa at a time with equipment as it becomes available, Japan can build a train station in 7 days after all !

OP posts:
Nononoandno · 17/03/2020 22:12

It would help to keep cv away from the main hospitals

GulliBelle · 17/03/2020 22:19

I am lobbying for Portmerion to be set up as an isolation village.

Mrsmorton · 17/03/2020 22:25

But the doctors need to be near the main hospitals. Not driving to centre parks. Ditto an resupplies. It's so labour intensive to transfer patients on stretchers. Seriously, this is a bad idea. Unless they're 5 min down the road!!

Literally my job at present! I've been seconded to a COVID crisis team to plan this.

Mrsmorton · 17/03/2020 22:25

Where will the army get the qualified people from? Where will the equipment come from?

I genuinely hope you're joking OP...

Bloomburger · 18/03/2020 10:33

Jesus I'd rather not be sent there ended up getting in hospital when I did go from severe D&V.
