I've been on this for years for psoriasis.

Havent never really thought of myself as in a vulnerable category although corona seems to be changing the perspective on everything.

I've not heard anything from my consultant team yet but should we be worrying???

Im actually due to jab today Grin

Hi i am on it. I also work for the nhs. Occuptional health have told me i cannot work with people with any respitory problems. You are at risk . Look after yourself.

I am and there is waaaaay too much contradiction and bun fighting on the Facebook page unfortunately.

Basically, the upshot right now as I type is that if you’re symptom-free and live with someone who is symptom-free, keep taking.

If not, call your healthcare professional immediately and ask their advice.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone had a letter saying they are in the Shielded category?

Ive had nothing yet and i was half expecting something ...... and friends of mine on methotrexate have.

This just popped up and by coincidence I spoke to my rheumatologist today. I'm on Humira and he said there's only a very tiny increased risk from it - the bigger risks are to people who are on multiple medications including steroids. I asked if I had to take any specific precautions and he said no, just to follow the general advice for the public. The only thing he did say was to stop the Humira if I get ill. He was very reassuring; knowledge about biologics has come on a lot over the last few years and there's not the same concern as there used to be about the impact on the immune system.

My dd (4yo) is on biologics - Tocilizumab and has had the message to say she is in the shielded category and needs to self isolate for 12 weeks. But she is also on methotrexate and methyl prednisolone (steroids) so that could be why. The nurse I spoke to seemed to suggest it was because she was on more than one immunosuppressant and is still glaring regularly.

Oh that is useful thank you!

Ive had no luck getting through to our specialist nurse team sadly and ive been rather on tender hooks wondering whether i should carry on working but seems i might be ok!!!
