How long are you ill with covid-19 for if you get it mildly?

Had a look online but can’t find much information. I remember reading if you get a mild form you can be ill for up to 3 weeks with it. Just wanted to know if anyone actually has any idea how long it lasts for?

As I understand it you only get tested if you end up in hospital so I don't think people with mild cases in England will even know whether they have it for sure. How would you measure the start and end point anyway?

I mean how long is a person symptomatic for. Just wondering if anyone has any experience or info about it.

My sister seems to have it, she felt really ill, like flu, for four days, on the mend now.
But of course can't know for sure as no test.
I also know someone in Ireland who tested positive but no symptoms at all ( was tested because was in close proximity to it and has serious health issues).

Nadine Dorries seemed to have symptoms for about a week & her elderly mother similar. Then they announced they had tested clear.
