Going to a funeral?

We have DHs Nans funeral on the 30th. It’s about a 2 hour drive from us.

We are all currently well, if schools close and there’s more of a lockdown do you think we would be ok to go. It’s only a small family funeral so not a ‘mass gathering ‘

That’s tough and sorry for your loss 💐
How does DH feel? Is anyone in the family in the vulnerable group ?
On balance if it were my Grandma I would go but probably alone. Kids are walking germs so I may keep them away from anyone who may be vulnerable.
But that’s based on today...

Is will be us, MIL who’s young 60’s, step father in law who’s 50 (toyboy!), DH ain’t who’s mid 50’s, DH cousin and partner who are both early 20’s.
Other than that I don’t know who’s going as that’s the only family (DH sister will be watching it online from Dubai) and I think they will be streaming it for a couple of the Nans close friends who will be in self isolation. Possibly some of MILs friends might come.

My Gran's is meant to be on Monday. I'm currently 300 miles away. We're not going. I feel awful for it, especially since I was meant to be reading her eulogy but ...

I think they are now planning on burying her and then having a memorial service for her life once this is all over.

I would contact whoever has been arranging it nearer the time, it's likely to be private if things continue.
