When they face enough isolation as it is.
Today in the bank I heard an old man saying to the cashier, that's me now ready for 4 months isolation, said in a really sad voice.
It breaks my heart, I haven't got my parents now but this would have finished them off.

It's so tough for the elderly who don't have family. I'm lucky that all my elderly relatives have someone who can bring them food, write letters or send pictures. We are currently setting up my husbands grandparents so they can use Skype to contact the family. It must be heartbreaking for the elderly whose only contact with people is in the supermarket, post office etc.

It's meant to be 12 weeks, I thought.

Yes, it's those without family who rely on contact with others at the shops, the bank, library etc, getting out for a wee while and a chat to others keeps them going.

It's so awful.
