Daughter with possible symptoms, expecting a baby any day

Can anyone advise on what I should do.

My daughter is 3 and today is showing possible CV symptoms (cough and slightly raised temp). We will all self isolate for 14 days as recommended, quite happy to do so.

However, I am 40 weeks pregnant. My due date is today. We are hoping to have a home birth but of course this may not be possible. If I go into hospital, someone would need to look after my daughter - my parents (healthy, mid 50s) were planning to have her.

Should I cancel the home birth to prevent any midwives potentially being exposed?
Should I try my best to avoid hospital to avoid exposing other patients - so continue with the HB?
Should I ask my husband to stay home and miss the birth in order to care for DD and prevent risk of exposing my parents?
I really am stuck not sure what to do!

I would call your midwife and ask her advice, tbh

Gosh what a difficult situation.

I think you need to call and ask.

The RCOG guidelines don’t cover self isolation due to a family member as far as I can see from a quick read now.

If you let your midwife know now then they can risk assess and make a plan for when you go into labour.

Hope your little girl is feeling better soon.
