UK travel and holiday insurance

Hi,

The government has advised against non essential travel. I have cancelled our holiday cottage at Easter in England and we have travel insurance that should cover us, but do we have to wait until full lockdown before we can claim? Thanks

I'm in the same boat. Had no intention of going but been waiting for the latest announcement tonight to make sure it's pretty clear that it's government advice that's stopping us. Travel company will only let us change dates according to the FAQs on their website. Will try to get through on the phone to them and insurance tomorrow. 🙁
