Rules around sick pay or ssp

Not sure if anybody can help, im not sure where to find a clear cut answer.
I’ll sit my questions to try and make it easier as I have a few.

  1. If I have to isolate because I have symptoms and I have company sick days left to use, can my company force me to claim ssp instead? Because it’s less money.
  2. How do you claim ssp, is it through your employer, do you have to do anything eg fill anything in or is it automatic.
  3. I’ve read about being able to claim ssp after 1 day by obtaining a sick note through 111. Has this changed as I know they’re advising against calling 111.
  4. If my children are off beciase school closes I assume this will be unpaid leave.
  5. If one of my children develop symptoms and we all have to isolate will I get sick pay (see question 1) beciase technically I’ll also be in isolation but not sick. Info I’ve read says yes but I’m not sure.

Thanks
