Do you think they will cut benefits?

Now that many more people will be putting in claims and the government having to pay for private beds, ventilators, etc, do you think it's possible that UC payments could be reduced?

Im with boost energy. They've just 'lent' me almost a months worth of energy. (Nothing to do with CV. )
They topped my meter up remotely so it can be done.

In the short term I'd say extremely unlikely. At a time when there's likely to be a spike in people claiming, cutting the benefits would be very unpopular.

In the longer term though, I fully expect this to be the start of another major recession, and with that we could well see a return to the dogma of austerity and the pitting of the working poor against the out-of-work poor that has characterised the past 10 years of Tory and Tory-led government.
