People spitting on door handles and on lift buttons

I live in a flat and people have been spitting on buttons and on the doors more recently-
I have 3 children 7,5 and 2 but I am also due to give birth in 8 weeks so with all the new self isolate for 12 weeks palarva I really dont know what to do.
I have been wiping down the buttons and door handles when I go out for the school run but now I'm worried.

Can i really keep the kids home from school for 12 weeks? Noone else can help with school run and wouldn't that defeat the object anyway?
I don't feel safe in the communal areas anymore as some people are obviously trying to either scare other residents or infect them.
SATs are in may, I would still be self isolating then (with a newborn) but most likely theyll be pushed back anyway.

What is everyone else doing? I just don't know what to do for the best

Why on earth would people be doing that?

I would keep them home, but I'm not sure what the climate is there. Here in Ohio, schools and all recreation places have been closed including dining rooms in restaurants.

People are spitting on door handles and lift buttons?! WTF?!!

The advice is to socially distance for 12 weeks isolate for 14 days of anyone in the house has symptoms. Can you report to the landlord/ HA?

Why on earth would people be doing that?

Same people who litter, play loud music on buses and tag everything I suppose. Antisocial bastards. Or, with my SW brain in gear, people who feel no ownership of public space and no connection to society because they have been alienated. Trying to assert their humanity and importance in the world. But arseholes.

To answer your question, if keeping them at home is doable for you, I think I would do that. Have you things you can entertain them with?
