... what things are making you smile, or are carrying on regardless?

For me it’s the bird, possibly a robin or blue tit as we regularly have then at home, sat 5 floors up on my roof, singing away at 5am! It was an annoyance last week but today, it seems a symbol for keep calm and carry on!

It's like the Bob Marley song `Three little Birds' OP!

It was my DS birthday yesterday and in spite of everything else going on, he had a great day.

Same as you I am just listening to the dawn chorus and finding it comforting.

Yester · 17/03/2020 05:54

I saw a week in my garden today! Never seen one before was speaking to my Mum in another city. Told her (she loves birds). She said she hadn't had a week for years and then a minute later she said " a little week has just flown in". P
It felt like a good omen.

I'm laying in bed. My husband and two preschoolers are both asleep. The curtains are open and the sky is beginning to turn into a grey blue. It feels so peaceful. Treasure my family right now

Perhaps time to enjoy the simple things and has made me grateful for the family and friends around me
I love the morning chorus in the spring

Etinox · 17/03/2020 05:59

Also enjoying the dawn chorus.
Already been self isolating after a scare 10 days ago and various cancellations. I noticed a regular tapping in the sitting room- we have a sparrow who regularly comes and says hello. I always resented the work of a biggish house, now quietly excited at the prospect of having space for returning dcs and getting the garden sorted.

cjt110 · 17/03/2020 06:13

@Fatted It is indeed! Glad he had a fab day!

Not sure if you can see Mr bluetit here. He’s so brave and lets us take photos. Mrs Robin however darts off!

I've been out with my two preschoolers tidying the garden up ready for spring today. It's been pleasant

This is a nice thread Smile thank you OP

My DC are older and at college/work etc and we are on two weeks isolation. I have to spend this week on my own as I have symptoms (and feel dreadful) but I hope everyone is fit and well next week and we can actually get to spend some time as a family as we don't get enough chances to do that at the moment.

Also I have hardly seen DH for months due to his work patterns so it will be lovely to spend time with him. We have a list of films to watch together.

I am also grateful that they are all kind and thoughtful and looking after me and that I have a heavy furry cat on my lap purring in the sunlight right now.

I'm at work with my brilliant colleagues. We're making each other laugh as we usually do, and while our team tries to keep everyone else calm there's a huge sense of solidarity. For everything that's going on, we're having a lot of fun and keeping our cog turning.
